Ultraviolet light-curing (UV) resin is a photosensitive resin with a relatively low molecular weight and has groups that can undergo photocuring reactions, such as various unsaturated double bonds or epoxy groups. It is the main component of photocuring products (UV coatings, UV inks, UV adhesives, etc.), and its performance basically determines the main properties of the cured material.
At present, the domestic photocurable resins mainly include epoxy acrylate, polyurethane acrylate resin, polyester acrylate resin, amino acrylate resin and photoimaging alkali-soluble resin.
Characteristics and applications of various photocurable resins
1. Epoxy acrylic resin? This is the most widely used and largest amount of light-curing resin. Due to the simple synthesis process of epoxy acrylic resin, convenient raw material sources, low price, fast light curing speed, high hardness and gloss of the cured film, excellent chemical resistance, good heat resistance and electrical properties, it is widely used as the main resin of light-curing paper, wood, plastic and metal coatings, light-curing inks, and light-curing adhesives. The main varieties are bisphenol A epoxy acrylic resin, phenolic epoxy acrylic resin, epoxidized oil acrylate and various modified epoxy acrylic resins.
2. Polyurethane acrylic resin? This is also the most widely used and consumed photocurable resin. Polyurethane acrylic resin has good comprehensive properties, such as excellent wear resistance and flexibility of the cured film, good chemical resistance, impact resistance and electrical properties, and good adhesion to plastic and other substrates. Therefore, it is widely used in photocurable paper, wood, plastic and metal coatings, photocurable inks, and photocurable adhesives. The main varieties are aromatic and aliphatic polyurethane acrylic resins.
3. Polyester acrylic resin is also a commonly used light-curing resin. Because the resin has low odor, low irritation, good flexibility and pigment wettability, it is often used in combination with epoxy acrylic resin and polyurethane acrylic resin in light-curing paint and light-curing ink.
4. Amino acrylic resin: Because the resin has good heat resistance and weather resistance, good chemical resistance, high hardness, etc. after curing, it is often used in combination with epoxy acrylic resin and polyurethane acrylic resin in photocuring coatings and photocuring inks.
5. Photo-imaging alkali-soluble resin is a resin specially used for photo-imaging liquid solder resist ink. It contains carboxyl groups and can be developed with alkaline water. The cured film has excellent electrical properties, chemical resistance and heat resistance. The main varieties are maleic anhydride copolymer and anhydride-modified epoxy acrylic resin.
